Product Description

Gr9 Ti-3Al-2.5V Titanium Tube ASTM B338

This Gr9 titanium tube is made from the Ti-3Al-2.5V alloy with 3% aluminium and 2.5% vanadium, and is produced to ASTM B338 and ASTM B337 by forging and machining. Grade 9 gives higher tensile strength and better fatigue resistance than pure titanium, with tensile strength of 550-690 MPa, yield strength of 485-620 MPa and elongation of about 15% minimum.

Grade 9 titanium tube is used in aerospace, medical devices, sports equipment and other high performance work, and in seawater and chloride rich environments where its higher strength and fatigue resistance are valuable. Grade 7 with 0.12-0.25% palladium is chosen for chemical processing, marine and heat exchanger duty, where resistance to both oxidizing and reducing acids is needed. Titanium is light and corrosion resistant, so these tubes and pipes last longer and weigh less than many alternatives.
