Product Description

Gr2 Seamless Titanium Tube ASTM B338 Pickled

This Gr2 seamless titanium tube is made from commercially pure titanium (UNS R50400) to ASTM B338 and supplied with a pickled or polished surface. Titanium tube has light weight, high strength and superior mechanical properties, so it is widely used in heat exchange equipment such as tube and tube heat exchangers, coil tube heat exchangers, serpentine tube heat exchangers, condensers, evaporators and conveying pipes. Gr2 has excellent stamping and forming performance and good weldability, and a welded joint can reach about 90 percent of the strength of the base metal. The tube is easy to saw and cut with a grinding wheel and has good machining performance, which makes it suitable for parts under 350 C with lower stress and for parts punched into complex shapes.

Applications

The tube is used where a light, strong and corrosion resistant line is needed. Typical uses include tube and shell heat exchangers, condensers, evaporators, seawater desalination and water treatment systems, chemical heat exchangers, pump bodies, distillation towers, and pipeline systems, valves and pumps exposed to sea water. Titanium resists chloride and oxidizing media, so it also suits offshore and power generation cooling circuits. Each batch is checked by mechanical performance testing, ultrasonic and eddy current flaw detection, and air pressure and water pressure testing before delivery.
